samshin is a 3-dimensional artist working primarily in textiles. She was born in Manhattan in 1990. She trained in old master painting at the Art Students League, and studied conceptual installation art at Vassar College. In 2012, she earned her Bachelors in Studio Arts.
Though her career spans many formats, all of her work relates to bodily development, human behavior and conditioning, and the reconstruction of the mother-child bond. She strives in her artistic life to make work that is direct, transparent, and ultimately giving.
samshin lives in Fort Greene and works out of her studio in Gowanus. Feel free to contact her for studio visits, commissions, conversations, or to schedule a playdate with the embryos.
